Technology Consultant

June - August 2018 • Atlanta, GA

What I liked

I enjoyed the team atmosphere and the confidence PwC had in me to put me on one of their biggest clients. I had little to no technology experience, but I was in an environment surrounded by brilliant people who were able to explain the process of the ERP implementation. By the end, I was able to train consultants who needed to be brought up to speed on our project and responsibilities.

What I wish was different

I had a wonderful experience and there is not much that I would change.

Advice

Adjust your expectations before starting an internship. As an intern, you are there to help the team and if you come in believing you will have a super crucial or vital role on a team then you will be sadly mistaken. With internships only last 8-10 weeks it is hard to allow the intern to become completely ingrained in the workflow of the team. Allow yourself to be available and willing to take on work whenever applicable, but do not be discouraged if you are not constantly busy. Use the time when you are not busy to do gain knowledge and access materials about your client, project, or company.

Accounting Intern

What I liked

It gave me an amazing opportunity to network with professionals in my industry as well as others in relevant industries along with phenomenal real world job experience.

What I wish was different

I wish the experience was longer, it was 7 weeks as oppose to the typical 8-10 weeks for most internships.

Advice

It is important to take the initiative to gain access to as many experiences as possible during the course of your internship, if you have some free time go around the office and see if the associate you met in the break room needs some help on a project. Make yourself a valuable resource.

Risk Assurance Intern

June - August 2018 • Tampa, FL

What I liked

The culture of the company and how they care for your personal and professional development.

What I wish was different

That the experience could have been ongoing.

Advice

They don't expect you to know anything. Interning at a Big 4 can feel intimidating, but a lot of the people have been in those shoes and are willing and able to be your mentors. In fact, they pair you with a relationship partner, a career coach (usually a manager), and a peer buddy (usually a associate).

Core Assurance Intern

June - August 2018 • Louisville, KY

What I liked

I liked that they treated us as equals and allowed us to work on similar projects that other staff were and did not give us busy work. I also really enjoyed that they offered you with clear categories of areas to improve in in a quick and professional fashion. They sit down with you face to face and discuss how you can improve to better yourself and make your time at PwC fulfilling.

What I wish was different

I wish I could've gotten the chance to visit a few of the offices near by that worked on the same audit client to see what the other locations are like.

Advice

Definitely go somewhere you've never been before, I wish I had done it to not only expand my network but to also just experience new things. PwC offers so much to their interns and staff and I am very glad I made the choice to join their team.
