I loved the company culture at Macquarie and the vibrancy of the office. The financial controls team was very welcoming and taught me every thing I needed to learn to do well at my internship.

What I wish was different

I wish the internship was longer!

Advice

I learned that I should have considered my personality when choosing where I wanted to work after college earlier. Macquarie culture fit my personality to a tee and I enjoyed the internship so much that I accepted the job offer.

- Be as open to learning from senior members of the team as possible. Everyone wants to see you succeed, so be intellectually curious and always ask questions to get a better understanding of the job.

The work was challenging yet rewarding, the people were fun and engaging and it was awesome to live in a new city for the summer. I also got to take a couple trips to New York throughout the summer.

I wish that I got to interact a little more with the managing directors.
